"Junior Achievement gives our students a unique opportunity to understand so much more than lessons on economics. Junior Achievement has taught our kids valuable life skills that have lasting impressions."

—Teresa Lyle, Elementary School Principal

Junior Achievement’s kindergarten through grade 12 programs—in the core content areas of work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy—ignite the spark in young people to experience and realize the opportunities and realities of work and life in the 21st century. Junior Achievement offers programs in three main categories: In-Class programs, JA BizTown and JA Finance Park.

Junior Achievement provides work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy curriculum to students from Kindergarten through 12th grade in the format of comprehensive classroom lessons. Using prepared kits which include all of the lessons and materials needed, each volunteer spends one hour per week for five to seven weeks in each classroom. While written to be taught sequentially, each In-Class program has been designed to function independently, with lessons that build upon one another to teach new skills and economic concepts.

JA BizTown blends in-class learning with a one-day economic simulation for upper elementary school students within an 8,500 square foot replica of an American city. The highly-interactive simulation allows students to bridge the connection between concepts learned in the classroom and the skills they need to succeed in a career.
