Junior Achievement Receives Grant from The Allstate Foundation

Portland, OR — Junior Achievement of Oregon and SW Washington received a $15,000 grant from the Allstate Foundation.

The grant will be used toward JA Economics for Success, Junior Achievement’s middle school In-Class program which provides practical information about personal finance and the importance of identifying education and career goals based on a student’s skills, interests, and values. JA Economics for Success offers turnkey solutions for college readiness, positive youth development and career skills.

“The Allstate Foundation has played a significant role in the development of the JA Economics for Success program as well as its recent redesign. Junior Achievement appreciates Allstate’s partnership in helping provide this essential economic education to our young people” says JA President John Hancock.

The grant was awarded as a part of The Allstate Foundation’s Good Starts Young Initiative and will impact over 480 students and 19 classrooms across the area. The Allstate Foundation’s Good Starts Young initiative – now in its fourth year – is about increasing the likelihood of youth’s success in life whatever their dreams may be. Young people growing up today face a more complex, economically challenging and globally connected world than ever before.
