Junior Achievement of Oregon & SW Washington is expanding our reach by constructing a new JA Discovery Center in Hillsboro, Oregon! This will allow us to impact a greater number of students teaching them important financial concepts and equipping students to pursue the boundless possibilities before them. Junior Achievement of Oregon & SW Washington has partnered with K-12 schools in our region since 1950. We provide financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship education to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. JA addresses critical economic mobility challenges by engaging youth through authentic, experiential K-12 programs that provide hands-on life and career skills.
Students will experience JA BizTown and JA Finance Park at the new JA Discovery Center. These two programs deliver in-depth curriculum along with an experiential learning opportunity which will allow students to bridge the connection between concepts learned in the classroom and skills they need to succeed in a career and life.

Creating Boundless Futures Through Education
The new JA Discovery Center will primarily serve the Northwest Regional Education Service District (NWRESD), the largest education service district in Oregon. Delivering programs throughout the NWRESD will help us reach diverse student populations, including rural students, students who are ethnically diverse, and students from low-income families. This project will boost Junior Achievement’s overall capstone program capacity to reach an estimated 25,000 students annually at our sites in Portland and Hillsboro. Establishing a new JA Discovery Center will allow us to bring pivotal lessons and experiences to thousands of students!
