Week One
This lesson is intended to debunk myths about where money comes from and introduce/reinforce the idea of saving money for wants and needs or to donate to charities.
Week Two
This lesson will help students understand the similarities and differences between the different types of payment methods.
Week Three
This lesson introduces some of the services provided by financial institutions and assists students in discovering the connection between spending and having money in the bank.
Week Four
This lesson introduces the concept of compound interest and the benefits of starting to save money as early as possible.
Week Five
This lesson introduces philanthropy and how even young students can give back in their communities.
Week Six
This lesson introduces various career fields and helps students explore their interests and how they relate to different careers.
Week Seven
This lesson introduces the idea of creating a business and examines the traits that a successful entrepreneur needs to have.
Week Eight
This lesson reinforces the roles of an entrepreneur and allows students to see what it takes to become a small business owner. They will play a game to try and earn a profit and make a name for themselves in the world of robot design.
Week Nine
This lesson will examine different needs and wants, price and value when determining what a family needs and wants. Money-smart people will look at their needs first and then see what is left over to consider their wants.
Week Ten
In this lesson, students explore what “invisible money” is and how it can impact their money goals. They will explore ways invisible money can impact earning, saving and spending goals, and they will weigh the pros and cons of the various ways to spend.
