Week Two
This lesson helps students understand interest and develop healthy decision-making skills when it comes to savings and debt.
Week Three
This lesson helps students understand the importance of saving money for the future, different types of savings, the ways that savings can compound over time, goal-setting and how to achieve their goals.
Week Four
This lesson helps students (and parents) gain exposure to the process of applying for FAFSA, learn the financial benefits and potential burdens of higher education, and understand how paying for college impacts personal finance decisions.
Week Five
This lesson helps students understand what the stock market is and how it works, learn key phrases associated with the stock market, and give the current world economic situation more context.
Week Six
This lesson helps students understand their strengths and skills, explore different career options based off their interests, learn skills for writing a resume and getting a job, and draw connections between personal finance and career skills.
Week Seven
This lesson is intended to help students understand what credit is, how credit cards work, what a credit score is and how to make healthy decisions in debt and personal finance.
Week Eight
This lesson introduces the character traits and skills needed to be an entrepreneur. Students will also learn why entrepreneurship is important, what starting a business might entail and the importance of creativity.
Week Nine
This lesson will cover basic personal finance skills and money management. Students will learn about the future of an increasingly cashless world, the cost of extracurricular activities, creating a basic personal budget and good financial decision-making tools.
Week Ten
This lesson will help students identify dreams and goals for their future and help them create an actionable plan for attaining those aspirations.
